Kristen Jorde has been teaching music to children and adults in her community since high school. She holds a Bachelor of Music with a concentration in Music Education from George Mason University. Since then, she has earned her Kodály certification and Master in Music Education in Kodály Music Education from the American Kodály Institute at Loyola University, Maryland, and she holds a Level One certificate in Music Learning Theory Early Childhood Music from Temple University. She has taught for Fairfax County Public Schools as an elementary music educator and 5th and 6th grade Choral Director and at Trinity Christian School as the Lower School Music Educator and Choral Director. She is the founder and former conductor of the Sovereign Grace Church Home School Co-op’s 3rd through 6th grade choral ensemble and conducted the co-op’s 7th through 12th grade choral ensemble. Additionally, Kristen has served on the board of the Virginia Organization of Kodály Educators and has co-chaired the Virginia Children’s Choral Festival the past couple years. She has worked with Fairfax Choral Society for the past ten years in a variety of roles, teaching Da Capo, Lyric, Treble, and Concert choir musicianship classes as well as conducting Da Capo and Treble choirs.
