FCS Youth Chorus Auditions
Auditions for our youth choruses are generally held in May/June, August/September, and January.
Beginner Choirs (Voice Check Required)
These choirs focus on foundational singing skills and require a voice check to determine the appropriate musicianship class. Most singers are accepted.
- Da Capo (Ages 5-7)
- Lyric Choir (Ages 7-10)
Auditioned Choirs
Placement in these choirs requires a formal audition.
- Treble Choir (Ages 10-12)
- Concert Choir (Ages 12-16)
- Master Singers (Ages 16-19)
Audition Process
All voice checks and auditions are conducted one-on-one with an FCS choir director. During the audition, each applicant will:
- Prepare and perform a short song (any style) that showcases their voice and personality.
- Demonstrate vocal range and development. The choir director will guide them through the process.
- Be assessed on musicianship skills, such as pitch matching, part singing, sight reading, and rhythm reading, as applicable.
