Marilyn Harwood has accompanied many choruses, community theater musical productions, studio recitals, solo and ensemble festivals, and scholarship competitions. She has played piano with chamber ensembles, ragtime ensembles, and swing bands. In addition to her accompanying, she has played cocktail piano at many venues, including the French Embassy and the Finnish Embassy. Currently Marilyn teaches chorus and general music at Spring Hill Elementary in McLean, VA. She has a B.A. in Music Education from George Mason University, a B.S. in Anthropology from Beloit College, and a Master’s in Teacher Leadership from the University of Phoenix. Ms. Harwood is a member of the Fairfax General Music Educators Association and of the Folklore Society of Greater Washington. She has also been a member of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association, the County Dance and Song Society, and the Northern Virginia Music Teacher Association.
