Danyel Reid is uniquely talented in music, dance and theatre but her passion lies in singing opera, jazz and musical theatre. Over the years she has given back to the community by teaching voice, guitar, piano and dance lessons to underprivileged children in Virginia and North Carolina. As an avid advocate for arts education for children, she has also taken on various roles in arts administration.In the past she has worked in administrative positions at North Carolina Dance Theater, Explore More Discovery Museum, James Madison University, Callaloo Media and The National Children’s Chorus . She is an accomplished mezzo-soprano with a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance from James Madison University under Dr. Carrie Stevens and a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double minor in Theater and Dance from UNC Charlotte under Dr. Brian Arreola. She is the new Director of Operations for the Fairfax Choral Society.
