Bonny Tynch has been an active music educator in the DC metropolitan area since 1997. Ms. Tynch holds degrees in choral music education from East Carolina University (BM), and George Mason University (MA). She is a frequent national presenter in Choral Techniques for the Developing Choir and in Orff-Schulwerk Pedagogy and has studied at the Orff Institute in Salzburg, Austria. Ms. Tynch has studied conducting with Dr. Rhonda Fleming, Dr. Rodney Eichenberger, Dr. Doreen Rao, and Dr. Jeffrey Benson. Choirs under her direction have performed under the batons of David Brunner and Cheryl Dupont and have served as the demonstration choir at the 2012 Choral Music Experience Institute with Doreen Rao, Sandra Snow, and Lee Kesselman in Kenosha, WI. Ms. Tynch is an enthusiastic adjudicator and clinician for choral festivals and honor choirs and passionately believes in the artistic potential of young souls with voices. In addition to her work with FCS, Ms. Tynch is the Founding Director of BRIDGES: Harmony through Music, a 501(c)3 organization that strives to increase opportunities for all children to be empowered through the study of music. Ms. Tynch is a Past-President of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association and an active member and workshop presenter of the American Choral Directors Association, National Association of Music Educators and the American Orff–Schulwerk Association.
